My favorite blogs

Food

http://eater.com/: My new obsession, this site has everything you would ever want to know about food nationally and in specific cities around the country. There is a Boston edition that will be coming out soon, so I’m extremely excited for that!

http://citygusto.com/: A new site from a fellow Bentley graduate that aims to tackle the daily challenge of finding the gems of each city. Their main goal is to help people better explore their city through a powerful and customizable search process and easy access information and reviews for restaurants and local events.

http://blog.dineoutboston.org/: DineOut Boston is a social dining collective devised by a Dbar chef that’s sort of like a platonic Match.com for food lovers.Once you’ve signed up through their website, you’ll start getting email updates about the next meetup. They just launched their new blog! UPDATE: Incredibly sad news came through the day of one of DineOut Boston’s events that the founder of the site and all of the events, suddenly passed away. Jesse Cook was in his late 20s and passed away on November 15, 2011.
http://bostonrestaurants.blogspot.com/: I have been following this food/restaurant blog for a while now and love that they are on top of all of the restaurant and food news in Boston and provide you with links to read more information about each announcement. Gotta love being “in the know.”

http://keepcalmanddrinkcoffee.wordpress.com/: My companion at El Centro’s blog that she started upon moving to Boston with the goal to try new coffeeshops around the Boston area while becoming acquainted with Beantown

http://sugarhighbaking.org/: From my former cubemate who tells of her ups and downs in the world of making cakes and cupcakes. My first experience with her cupcakes was with a gingerbread cupcake late in the work day. Needless to say it helped me get through the rest of the day!

http://lifewithfoodanddrink.blogspot.com/ : Haven’t met Janine yet, but this was a recommendation from a friend in NYC. Janine used to work at Bain & Company and has since become successful in the world of food writing! So impressed!

Photography

http://www.jenncimino.blogspot.com/: Jenn Cimino is an amazing friend from college who has taken her business degree and coupled it with her photography degree to start her own photography business. She is based out of Boston with a studio in Winthrop, MA. She specializes in portraiture (especially for children) and she loves doing sports photography.

http://carlateneyck.com/: Carla and I met through my wonderful connections/Boston family at Bain & Company. She is a wonderful photographer based out of Hartford, CT who specializes in wedding and editorial, conducts amazing photography workshops for all levels of photographers and is great at working in corporate settings as well.

http://annabriggsphotography.com/: I met Anna through Carla. She was an amazing makeup artist who has shifted gears in her career and now is passionate about photography. She is based out of the Boston and specializes in wedding and portraiture.

Daily life

http://thirtybe4thirty.com/: Join Miss Kathleen Barrett on her comical journey to accomplish her “bucket list” of milestones – both large and small – to hit/check off the list before her 30th birthday!

http://thatswhereimat.wordpress.com/: A friend of mine did what most of us wish to do and took time off from work and took a trip around the world. Take a look at her blog and see all of the amazing things she experienced!

http://kinkypinksneakers.wordpress.com/: Probably my favorite blog name yet for a friends blog that is self proclaimed a blog of “blabbing about design, crafts, tunes, and snacks”

http://alijonceaday.wordpress.com/: From the author of kinkypinksneakers is a new page daily photo page

Hair and makeup

http://www.ddnickel.com/index.htm: I also met DD through Carla. She is a great hair and makeup artist who is based out of New Haven, CT and has worked with numerous celebrities (my man Jeter being one of them!!!), popular TV and Broadway shows, runways and photo shoots of all types.

More to come as I stumble across more favorites…let me know if you have any recommendations!
